ADT4Blue 5th Consortium Meeting & Blue Day – Innovations for the Blue Economy

Bidart and Anglet, France – 7–8 October 2025

ADT4Blue 5th Consortium Meeting

Collaboration, Innovation, and a Glimpse into the Blue Future

The partners of ADT4Blue – Advanced Digital Technologies for the Blue Economy gathered this week at ESTIA Institute of Technology in Bidart and in Anglet (Olatu), in the heart of the French Basque Country, for the project’s 5th Consortium Meeting.

The two-day session brought together the 13 partners from Portugal, Spain, Ireland and France to review progress, exchange experiences, and align the next phase of the project — particularly the launch of the 3rd Open Call, scheduled for this autumn.

We are entering an exciting phase. The next Open Call will give new entrepreneurs and innovators across the Atlantic Area the opportunity to develop digital solutions for the Blue Economy — with real impact on sustainability, competitiveness and jobs.

During the meeting, partners presented updates from each Work Package, including ecosystem development, capacity building, entrepreneurial support and evaluation. The discussions focused on:

  • Strengthening collaboration with Digital Innovation Hubs, incubators and accelerators;
  • Supporting the selected teams of OC2 athrough the ADT4Blue Training & Mentoring Programme;
  • Preparing the 3rd Open Call, which will once again invite startups, SMEs and innovators to propose advanced digital solutions — using technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT and Blockchain — to address real challenges from Blue Economy actors.

The consortium also reviewed the communication and dissemination strategy, led by ACCENT SUD, to ensure visibility and engagement throughout the Atlantic Area ecosystem and beyond.

Blue Day – Innovations for the Blue Economy

On 8 October 2025, right after the consortium meeting, ADT4Blue took part in the Blue Day – Innovations for the Blue Economy, held at Olatu Leku in Anglet (France).

Organised by ADT4Blue and Blue Point, in collaboration with ESTIA Entreprendre and EU4DUAL – The European Dual Studies University (represented by ESTIA and Mondragon University), the event brought together startups, researchers and European partners to exchange ideas on innovation, sustainability, and the future of the Blue Economy.

It was a unique opportunity to strengthen collaboration, inspire new partnerships, and spark fresh ideas for a sustainable maritime future.

A warm thank you to all participants, organisers and partners for their valuable contributions and engagement!
